HOW I STARTED WORKOUT WELFARE
Not so long ago I weighed 140kgs. Depression and anxiety were familiar bedfellows, and my addictions – had me marching to an early grave. Marching, but I just couldn’t move. Until heartache, some painful rock bottoms, and a couple of hard knocks – including the suicides of several close friends – inspired me to focus on the day-to-day things I could actually change. Exercise saved my life. If poor mental health and addiction were keeping me stuck, then exercise got me moving in every sense. As for food, 20 years’ experience as a qualified chef meant I already knew the value of nutrition, so I went about researching and creating nutritious recipes that fed the soul and fueled the body.
